What happened

On July 6, 2026, at around 03:02 AM, a truck driver contacted the MT onroad dispatch center following a tyre breakdown on the A7 motorway heading towards Würzburg. The vehicle was forced to stop near the Uttrichshausen service area (Fulda district, Hesse). The right outer tyre of size 245/70 R17.5 on the semi-trailer's second axle was severely damaged. The wheel rim remained undamaged.

As the haulage company is an account customer, providing their customer account number (Kundennummer) was sufficient. This enabled instant identification in our system without re-entering company details and allowed immediate order confirmation.

What we did

MT onroad dispatchers immediately initiated local mobile tyre service coordination:

• 03:02 — 03:10 AM: Intake, instant customer account identification via Kundennummer, and payment authorization confirmation.
• 03:10 — 04:30 AM: Night-time partner search. Nearby night breakdown services lacked the 245/70 R17.5 tyre size in stock. The only available night workshop was 150 km away, resulting in disproportionately high call-out costs.
• 04:30 — 05:00 AM: MT onroad transparently explained the situation to the dispatcher and driver, recommending waiting until 08:00 AM for a local, cost-effective service. The customer appreciated the advice and agreed.
• 08:05 AM: At 08:00 AM, a local mobile service partner was booked, and an ETA of approximately 90 minutes was confirmed.
• 09:33 AM: The mobile tyre service arrived on site at the A7 location and fitted the new tyre.

Result

By 09:33 AM, the 245/70 R17.5 tyre was fitted, restoring the trailer to full operational readiness. Honest price guidance saved the customer from excessive 150 km dispatch fees, while quick identification via Kundennummer streamlined the entire process.
